Team Type 1 Pro Cycling Team Hires CPT for 2008 Season
February 18, 2008, Durango, Colorado.
Team Type 1, a UCI Professional Cycling Team and the newest pro cycling program in the US, has retained Colorado Premier Training (CPT) to handle coaching services for the team’s 2008 racing season. CPT is proud to announce its association with this exciting new program, as it marks a revolutionary mission for a pro cycling team with an extremely positive message: to bring awareness to the world regarding Type1 diabetes and demonstrate the remarkable medical technology employed in treating the disease.
Rick Crawford, Director of Coaching for Colorado Premier Training, got involved with Team Type 1 as a fledgling organization back in 2006 when its sole goal was to complete the Race Across America (RAAM).
“CPT will be primarily responsible for managing the coaching programs of the athletes on the team with Type 1 diabetes. There are four athletes on the pro squad with Type 1 diabetes and nine on the RAAM Squad. I have been impressed with the quality of people in the Type 1 community and I look forward to working with these athletes. They are impressive in their unity and their zest for life. They take nothing for granted, which is extremely refreshing”, explains Crawford.
CPT’s involvement with Team Type 1 marks a new trend for more intensive management of pro cycling teams in an effort to better monitor the athletes for the sake of ethics, wellness, and performance.
Colorado Premier Training coaches endurance cyclists and triathletes, is a leading provider of wind tunnel testing for sports, and works with many of the top manufacturers, professional teams, individual pros, amateurs and every day athletes to attain optimal fitness for any event and every day fitness.
